Virtual Summit for Ocean Action

On February 3-5, SOA will be co-hosting the Ultramarine, a special convening of high net worth individuals and patrons of the environment to discuss and highlight key issues threatening the ocean. Speakers include: Debbie Ramengesau, first lady of Palau; Ashlan Cousteau, of EarthEcho International; Nainoa Thompson, President of the Polynesian Voyaging Society; and Dr. Sylvia Earle, Time Magazine’s “Queen of the Seas”.

Traditionally held on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, this year, the majority of the event will be held virtually. A few high net worth individuals will be on the island, but our participation will be to contribute to the virtual portion of the program. The audience and content will consist of other directors from ocean focused NGO's, ocean advocates, corporate CSR executives, investors, and other policy makers.

On February 5th, SOA will be hosting a series of panels, one of which being a pre-recorded panel showcasing our alumni and micrograntee recipients. The panel itself will be 45 minutes in length, Q&A format from our moderator, and a trailer highlighting the significance of the impact of our program alumni and Ocean Leaders.
